For the past thirty-five years of practicing dentistry, I have been very fortunate because I enjoy the career I have chosen. I have established many long term relationships with patients, and am now seeing 2nd and 3rd generations from the same family. My point of view has always been to treat people as I would like to be treated, or how I would my own family. To be a caring and responsible caregiver is of the utmost importance, and I take the role very seriously. I offer practical treatment alternatives and guide my patients to make decisions that best fit their dental needs, while providing a kind of artistic and esthetically pleasing result.
Growing up in the Northwest suburbs, I attended Fremd High School and then went to the University of Michigan, graduating with honors in 1973. I continued my education at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, graduating in 1977. I'm a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois and Chicago Dental Societies, and the Academy of General Dentistry. In 2005, 2006 and 2009 I received "America's Top Dentist" award from the Consumer Research Council of America, and was recognized by Chicago Magazine as one of the "top 40 Dentists" in Chicago in 2010.
I consider dentistry a lifelong learning process, and have taken many hours of continuing education. Recently, I completed over 100 hours of study in the treatment of Sleep Apnea, which has emerged as a serious life threatening issue affecting many of my patients and the general population.
My college roommate introduced me to my wife of 36 years, Christine, who is a practicing pediatric nurse in critical home health care. We have three adult children living in Chicago with whom we are very close. Family time has always been a priority and I look forward to spending time with them whenever possible. I look forward to practicing for many years to come.
